Pricing

How wholesale pricing actually works.

Two kinds of cost go into every box. Fixed costs u2014 cutting dies, printing plates, press make-ready, proofing u2014 are the same whether you order 500 or 50,000. Variable costs u2014 board, ink, finishing, assembly, freight u2014 scale with each unit. As quantity rises, the fixed part is divided across more boxes, so the unit price falls steeply at first and then levels off.

n

Thatu2019s why we quote at least three quantities. You can see where the curve flattens and decide whether buying a bigger run (and storing it) beats ordering more often.

Ways to bring the unit price down without cheapening the box

n
    n
  • Standardize sizes across products so one die serves several SKUs.
  • n
  • Gang-run several designs that share a size and board on one press sheet.
  • n
  • Move from digital to offset once a design is stable and you order 1,000+ at a time.
  • n
  • Swap a finish, not the board. Dropping a second foil color saves more than downgrading a mailer from E-flute to something that crushes.
  • n
  • Ship flat and palletized to reduce freight and storage.

DeliveryPalletized freight, liftgate on request, split shipments to multiple warehouses or 3PLs

Consistency

Keeping reorders identical.

The biggest risk with volume packaging isnu2019t the first order u2014 itu2019s the fifth, when a different press operator, paper batch or ink lot can shift color. We store the approved proof, the press-approved sheet and the full specification for every job, and check new runs against them. If anything in the supply chain changes (for example a board grade is discontinued), we tell you before printing and offer the closest equivalent.

Planning a launch across many SKUs? Ask about building a packaging spec sheet for your range, so every new product follows the same sizes, materials and color rules.

Pricing

How wholesale pricing actually works.

Wholesale box pricing is mostly about spreading fixed setup across more units. Every run has costs that donu2019t change with quantity u2014 printing plates, the cutting die, press make-ready and inspection u2014 and costs that do: board, ink, finishing and labor per box.

nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
QuantityWhat changes
50u2013250Digital printing, no plates; setup is small but unit cost is highest
500u20131,000Offset becomes viable for many builds; unit cost drops sharply
2,500u20135,000Setup is a small share of the total; board choice now drives cost
10,000+Board buying, sheet layout and freight efficiency dominate the price
n

Ask for pricing at two or three quantities on one quote. The jump between tiers is often large enough to change how much you order.

Inventory

Managing wholesale stock without overbuying.

    n
  • Split deliveries. Produce once at the higher-quantity price, then ship in stages to your warehouse or 3PL.
  • n
  • Shared dielines across SKUs. Several products in the same box size with different artwork can often run together, so each design gets close to bulk pricing.
  • n
  • Keep artwork on file. Reorders skip proofing and go straight to production.
  • n
  • Forecast with lead time. Reorder when stock covers production time plus shipping plus two weeks of safety stock.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What counts as a wholesale order?

There is no hard line, but pricing becomes noticeably better from around 1,000 units per design, and again at 5,000 and 10,000. Your quote shows each tier so you can choose.

Can you hold stock and ship it to me over time?

For repeat accounts we can discuss scheduled releases from a single production run. Availability depends on volume and space, so ask your specialist.

Do you offer net payment terms?

Terms are available to approved business accounts after the first order. Card, ACH and bank transfer are accepted for all orders.

How do you keep color consistent between orders?

We keep your approved proof and press sheet as the standard and check each new run against them. Pantone spot colors give the most repeatable results for brand colors.
