Packaging Design

Packaging design that prints exactly as it looks on screen.

Our designers place your brand on the dieline, prepare print-ready files and catch the problems — bleed, small text, color shifts, missing label copy — that cause reprints.

Scope

What our designers do.

Layout on the dieline (free). We take your logo, colors, copy and imagery and arrange them on each panel of the box — front, back, sides, flaps and inside — so they read correctly when folded.

File preparation (free). We check resolution, convert colors, add bleed, outline fonts, and set up foil, spot UV and white-ink layers as separate plates.

New artwork (quoted). If you need packaging concepts from scratch, illustration or a new brand look, we quote this separately before starting.

Pre-press

Pre-press checks we run on every file.

Check Why it matters
1/8 in (3 mm) bleed past every cut line Prevents white slivers at the edges after die-cutting
Critical text 1/8 in inside folds and cuts Folds can crack ink and cuts can drift slightly
300 dpi images at final size Lower resolution prints soft or pixelated
Minimum 6 pt text (8 pt reversed) Smaller text can fill in or break up
CMYK or Pantone, not RGB Screen colors can’t all be printed; we convert and flag big shifts
Rich black for large areas only Prevents registration blur on small black text
Barcode size and quiet zone Retailers reject unscannable UPCs
Compliance

Label requirements we’ll flag.

We’re not regulators, but we see a lot of packaging and we’ll point out common omissions before you print:

  • Retail basics: product identity, net quantity in US and metric units, and the manufacturer or distributor name and address under the Fair Packaging and Labeling Act.
  • Cosmetics: ingredient list and, since MoCRA, a US contact for adverse-event reports — see cosmetic boxes.
  • Food: nutrition facts, allergens including sesame — see food boxes.
  • Candles: fire-safety warnings per ASTM F2058 — see candle boxes.
  • Barcodes: GS1 UPC codes for retail.

Final responsibility for regulatory copy stays with the brand; check with your compliance adviser for anything regulated.

Fixes

Common artwork problems we fix.

  • RGB files that would print dull — converted to CMYK with big shifts flagged.
  • Low-resolution logos — recreated in vector where possible.
  • No bleed — backgrounds extended so edges don’t show white.
  • Text too close to folds — moved to the safe area.
  • Barcodes too small — resized to scan.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is packaging design really free?

Placing your existing logo, artwork and copy on our dieline and preparing print files is free. Creating new branding or illustration is quoted separately before any work starts.

What file formats do you accept?

Adobe Illustrator (AI), PDF, EPS and high-resolution PSD or PNG. Vector files give the sharpest results.

Can you match my brand color exactly?

For exact matching we print Pantone spot colors. CMYK can get close, and we flag colors that will shift.

How many revisions do I get?

Revisions to the proof before you approve it are included.

Can you design using my existing box?

Yes. Send photos or the old dieline and we can recreate or improve it.

Send us what you have.

A logo and a product size is enough to start. We’ll come back with a layout on a 3D proof.
