Uses

What pillow boxes are good for.

Pillow boxes are made from a single die-cut blank with curved score lines at each end. Pressing the ends in creates the pillow shape and locks the box. They’re one of the lowest-cost custom boxes to produce, and they look more considered than a bag.

Best for light, flat or small items: jewelry pieces, gift cards, hair ties, socks, soap bars, samples, sweets and favors. Not suitable for heavy or rigid items that would strain the curved ends.

Ideas

Making pillow boxes look premium.

A plain pillow box looks like a party favor; a well-specified one looks like a boutique gift. Metallic or holographic board, a single foil logo, a satin ribbon threaded through a slot and a matching sticker seal turn an inexpensive structure into something people keep.

Sizes

Pillow box sizes.

Use Typical size (L × W × D)
Gift card or jewelry 4 × 3 × 1 in
Soap or small cosmetics 5 × 3.5 × 1.5 in
Hair extensions or apparel accessories 8 × 5 × 2 in
Party favors 6 × 4 × 1.5 in

Pillow boxes have curved ends, so they hold flatter, lighter items. They ship flat and are folded closed by hand.

Design

Making a simple box feel special.

Pillow boxes are inexpensive, so a single finish goes a long way: kraft with a foil logo, a holographic board, or a printed belly band. They’re a natural fit for favors, gift cards, hair extensions and small cosmetics.
