Sizes that fit folded clothing.
Clothing is soft, so the risk isn’t breakage — it’s oversized boxes that waste shipping money and arrive looking empty. Fold the garment the way you pack it, add tissue, then measure.
| Item (folded) | Typical mailer inside size |
|---|---|
| 1 T-shirt | 10 × 8 × 2 in |
| 2–3 T-shirts or 1 hoodie | 12 × 10 × 3 in |
| Jeans or knitwear | 14 × 10 × 4 in |
| Lingerie set | 10 × 7 × 2 in, often a two-piece or magnetic box |
| Sneakers | 13 × 9 × 5 in shoe box, shipped inside an outer carton |
Since July 12, 2026, USPS joined UPS and FedEx in using a dimensional-weight divisor of 139 and rounding each dimension up to the next whole inch for parcels over one cubic foot. A box that’s just over a size threshold can now cost noticeably more — another reason to size mailers tightly.
Apparel packaging options.
| Styles | Mailer boxes, garment boxes, shoe boxes, two-piece lingerie boxes, magnetic gift boxes |

| Board | E-flute corrugated for shipping; SBS or rigid for in-store and gift |
| Outside, inside, or both; patterns and messages inside the lid | |
| Return-ready | Tear strip opening plus a second adhesive strip for resealing |
| Extras | Branded tissue, stickers, thank-you cards, hang tags |
Making returns easier (and cheaper).
Fashion has high return rates, and the box often gets a second trip. A tear strip lets the customer open the box cleanly without a knife, and a second peel-and-seal adhesive strip lets them reseal it for the return. That saves you sending replacement packaging, and the box arrives back intact enough to reuse or recycle.
Pair it with a printed note inside the lid explaining how to return — fewer support emails, happier customers.
Apparel box sizes.

|---|---|
| Folded T-shirt | 10 × 8 × 2 in |
| Hoodie or sweater | 14 × 10 × 3 in |
| Jeans | 14 × 10 × 2.5 in |
| Dress shirt | 15 × 10 × 2 in |
| Shoes | 13 × 8 × 5 in |
| Socks / accessories | 8 × 6 × 2 in |
Fold the garment the way you’ll ship it and measure; tissue and inserts add a little depth.
Plan for returns.
Apparel has high return rates in e-commerce. A mailer with a second adhesive strip or a reusable tuck closure lets customers send items back in the original box, which saves them hassle and saves you buying return packaging.
Frequently asked questions
What size box do I need for a T-shirt?
A single folded T-shirt usually fits a 10 × 8 × 2 inch mailer; two or three tees or a hoodie need around 12 × 10 × 3 inches. Fold the garment as you pack it and measure with tissue.
Can you print inside clothing boxes?
Yes. Inside print — a pattern, logo or message under the lid — is one of the most popular upgrades for apparel mailers.
Do you make shoe boxes?
Yes, in printed SBS or corrugated, sized to your shoes, plus outer shipping cartons.
What is a tear strip?
A perforated strip that opens the box cleanly without scissors. Combined with a second adhesive strip, it lets customers reseal the box for returns.
Can you include branded tissue paper?
Yes. Custom tissue paper is part of our accessories range — ask for it on your quote.
